I am a professor at the Department of Applied Art Education of the College of Education. I also serve as the Department Chair of Art Education major and Art Therapy major in the Graduate School of Education.
I have a B.A.(1994) in Painting from Seoul National University, a M.F.A.(1997) in Painting from SUNY at Buffalo, and a Ph.D. (2003) in Art Education from Syracuse University. I have taught various courses such as Art Education Theory, Multimedia Art Education, Multicultural Art Education, and Qualitative Research Methodology at undergraduate and graduate levels. My research interests include art curriculum evaluation, art teacher preparation, multicultural art education, and qualitative research methodology. I have published about 50 articles in leading academic journals, co-authored 2 books, and co-translated multiple books.
