Drawing the crisis: how visual art pedagogy builds ecological agency in secondary classrooms

A new multi-site study across seven countries explores how structured art-making practices, from participatory mapping to speculative futures drawing, develop students’ sense of agency in the face of climate anxiety. Researchers found that arts-based approaches produced measurable gains in ecological self-efficacy where traditional informational approaches did not.
