Description

The Asia Region Congress 2026, “Interweaving and Co-Creation: Diverse Pathways of Arts Education “, aims to provide a space for exchange among arts education scholars and practitioners from Taiwan and abroad, and to explore directions and practices of arts education within contemporary, diverse societies. Through interdisciplinary dialogue and the sharing of research and practice, it seeks to deepen educators’ understanding of issues such as multicultural education, local practices, cross-disciplinary collaboration, and art as social action. It also offers opportunities for master’s and doctoral students in arts-education-related fields to present and discuss their research and practice, with the aim of stimulating and strengthening their scholarly competence and research capacity.

In the wave of digitalization and globalization, visual art education needs to be sensitive to the pulse of our time and actively respond to social changes. With the theme of the “Unlimited Co-creation”, this in-person conference re-examines the methods and value of visual arts education, emphasizing reform and integration with other disciplines, seeking potentialities of theoretical innovation, content enrichment, means renewal to enhance communication and dialogue in the digital age, so as to open up new spaces for the future development of visual education that is an important force to promote social progress and development. This conference will hold academic discussions on how visual art education should adapt to social development and technological change, how to adapt to the integration of multiple disciplines and fields, how to adapt to students’ diversity in the new era, and how to adapt to the mutual learning and exchange of civilizations between cultures, so as to promote visual arts education to inject strong innovative vitality into social progress.
