Following the success of the Second World Conference on Arts Education (Seoul, 2010), the UNESCO’s General Conference at its 36th session in 2011 proclaimed the 4th week of May as the International Arts Education Week. The International Arts Education Week aims at increasing the international community’s awareness on the importance of arts education and at reinforcing its cooperation by promoting cultural diversity, intercultural dialogue and social cohesion.

The Seoul Agenda: Goals for the Development of Arts Education is a major outcome of UNESCO’s Second World Conference on Arts Education held in Seoul, the Republic of Korea, on 25 – 28 May 2010.
The Seoul Agenda calls upon UNESCO Member States, civil society, professional organizations and communities to recognize its governing goals, to employ the proposed strategies, and to implement the action items in a
concerted effort to realize the full potential of high quality arts education to positively renew educational systems, to achieve crucial social and cultural objectives, and ultimately to benefit children, youth and
life-long learners of all ages.
Education Through Art: Building Partnerships for Secondary Education
UNESCO held its first World Congress on Arts Education in Lisbon in March 2006. A key element of that Congress was the announcement of a Joint Declaration between the International Drama/Theatre and Education Association (IDEA), the International Society for Music Education (ISME), and the International Society for Education through the Art (InSEA) to work together and to launch the World Alliance for Arts Education (WAAE).
The UNESCO Observatory brings together people with shared interests in the arts and encourages activities that cross disciplinary divisions, drawing on the combined expertise of national and internationally recognised researchers. The Observatory's focus crosses over the areas of architecture; the physical, natural, social and health sciences; well-being, culture, heritage, arts practice, education in the arts, community arts practice, research methodology, philosophy, ethics and program evaluation across pure, strategic, applied and action research. http://www.abp.unimelb.edu.au/unesco/
UNESCO, U.S. Library of Congress and partners launched World Digital Library
UNESCO and 32 partner institutions yesterday launched the World Digital Library, a web site that features unique cultural materials from libraries and archives from around the world. The site – located at www.wdl.org – includes manuscripts, maps, rare books, films, sound recordings, prints and photographs. It provides unrestricted public access, free of charge, to this material. Forum From promoting to building peace with NGO’s , Querétaro, México on 3 and 4 November 201
This Forum involved organizations from different parts of the world. The organizations had participations where they can show their actions in order to contribute to the culture of peace.The Forum was held in Querétaro, México on 3 and 4 November 2016. The specif topic was From promoting to building peace with NGO’s.The discussions were related to increase our efforts to work together having a better dialogue and sharing experiences with different cultures. The discussions were also organized around three general themes:1. Education: a path for lasting peace.2. Youth engagement for peace. 3. Culture and sport: tools for peace.

I had the pleasure to represent INSEA to this event in Paris.The main subjects are to exchange and be concerned by « The challenge of the digital revolution for NGO’s ».Mr Eric Falt, UNESCO Assistant Director-General for External Relations and Public Information opened the session and noted the very important participation of NGO. He presented the question of « contemporary digital environment and individual and collective responsibility ». M. Darko Tanaskovic, ambassador, permanent delegate from Serbe Republic at Unesco and President of the comite for relationship with non governmental organisation in Excutive Council of UNESCO expressed how we need to pay attention to take care of « multi-culturality » in regard to multiculturalism which is institutional and quite ideological.Then Mrs Martine Levy, Chairperson of the International Conference and of the NGO-UNESCO Liaison Committee promoted the independence and freedom of the 380 NGO, able through their actions to take care and develop actions in favor of education, culture , sciences and others. As main speaker, Mr Eric Sadin, writer and philosopher, presented the danger of merchandising our life, human freedom through the collect of personal informations, concept of artificial Intelligence and excess of connexions. A very strong lecture supporting creation and art as political and democratic answer against the « silicon power ».
