At InSEA, we believe that art transforms people’s lives.
Gifts in Wills are an important and crucial source of funding, providing lasting support which will help to safeguard InSEA’s ability to enrich more people’s lives now and in the future. Remember InSEA in your will
There are many ways you can make a gift which is both simple and efficient:
Residuary: the amount left over after all other costs, for example, funeral expenses, have been deducted
Pecuniary: a fixed sum of money
Specific: a gift of a particular named item, for example, a painting, building or land
Reversionary: a gift to a loved one for use during his or her lifetime which can then be passed onto a specified charity after this time
Leaving a gift in your will is an effective lasting contribution without any immediate outlay. Legacies left to charities are free from inheritance tax, which means a legacy could result in your tax bill being reduced.
If you have already made a will, you can add an amendment, known as a codicil, which InSEA can provide for you. We do recommend that you consult with your legal advisor when deciding upon making a legacy.
By making a gift to InSEA, you are recognising the work that we do and the difference we make to people’s lives. No gift is too large or too small. Whatever the size, your gift can and will make a difference.

Candidate for InSEA World Councillor: Asia Region
Over the past several years, I have had the privilege of serving as Chair and Secretary of the InSEA Asia Region Council, where I worked to foster collaboration and mutual understanding across our richly diverse yet complex region. Building on this experience, I am eager to contribute to the advancement of art education and the strengthening of global networks through the following initiatives: First, I will promote cross-national and cross-regional collaboration—while honouring the unique cultural contexts of each area—by facilitating online forums and dialogue spaces that broaden opportunities for academic exchange and partnership. Second, I aim to empower emerging researchers and educational practitioners by initiating workshops and collaborative research-matching platforms, supporting the development of the next generation of art educators and scholars. Third, I plan to propose more flexible and responsive administrative structures within InSEA to ensure the sustainability and scalability of these efforts. I am deeply committed to fostering an inclusive and supportive environment grounded in solidarity with fellow InSEA members. Together, I believe we can expand the global reach and transformative power of art education for communities around the world.

Candidate for InSEA World Councillors: Asia Region
As a prospective World Councillor for InSEA, I am committed to actively supporting and advancing the organisation’s mission through inclusive leadership, regional engagement, and global collaboration. The Asia Region within InSEA is diverse and dynamic territories in the world, encompassing a vast range of cultures, languages, educational systems, and artistic traditions. From centralized national curricula to more decentralized frameworks, there are a variety of approaches to visual arts education. Each country contributes unique visual languages and philosophies of aesthetics, often rooted in spiritual and philosophical traditions. There's a growing movement across the region to decolonize art education and amplify local narratives in global forums. Integration of digital media, interdisciplinary art, and community-based practices are increasingly prominent. While some countries enjoy strong institutional support for the arts, others face challenges related to funding, teacher training, or curriculum development. I will work closely with fellow councillors in my region Asia to produce timely reports for World Council meetings, ensuring that key issues, developments, and opportunities in art education from our region are effectively represented. I will participate fully in World Council meetings and Congresses, advocating for initiatives that reflect both local needs and global priorities in art education. I aim to strengthen communication across my region by fostering networks among affiliates, encouraging contributions and supporting regional congresses and informal gatherings. I will also promote membership growth through strategic outreach and by nurturing meaningful engagement among current and potential members. If I am elected as a World Councillor from the Asia region, I will play a crucial role in 7 belows. ― Strengthening regional networks. ― Representing local needs and innovations at the global level. ― Promoting intercultural dialogue and equity in art education. ― Sharing research and pedagogical practices. ― Building transnational networks and collaborations. ― Advocating for the value of art in education across diverse policy environments. ― Supporting local initiatives that address socio-cultural, political, or environmental issues through creative practices. Above all, I hope to serve as a goodwill ambassador for InSEA, welcoming and connecting members at all levels, and helping shape a vibrant and globally connected community of art educators during my term.

Candidate for: InSEA World Councillor: Asia Region
It would be a delight to contribute to the InSEA World Council during the 2025–2027 term. To me, InSEA feels like an academic home. Through InSEA, I have met passionate art educators and dedicated researchers whose work and friendship continue to inspire me. Many of my international travel experiences have been enriched by the insights, connections, and cultural exchanges that InSEA conferences offer. I hope to encourage more people to join and feel connected through this vibrant community. I previously served as an Asia Region Representative (2011–2014) and Secretary of the InSEA Asia Regional Council (2019–2022). And I have been a member of the International Journal of Education through Art editorial board since 2004. If elected, I will: • Encourage broader participation in InSEA programs through regional contributions to webinars, projects, and the sharing of local practices; • Strengthen communication across the Asia Region through culturally responsive, context-driven dialogue; • Support InSEA’s digital efforts by contributing accessible and multilingual content; • Participate in working groups or committees to enhance member engagement and regional visibility. I hope to serve thoughtfully and collaboratively to help InSEA grow as a welcoming, globally connected network for art educators.
