At InSEA, we believe that art transforms people’s lives.
Gifts in Wills are an important and crucial source of funding, providing lasting support which will help to safeguard InSEA’s ability to enrich more people’s lives now and in the future. Remember InSEA in your will
There are many ways you can make a gift which is both simple and efficient:
Residuary: the amount left over after all other costs, for example, funeral expenses, have been deducted
Pecuniary: a fixed sum of money
Specific: a gift of a particular named item, for example, a painting, building or land
Reversionary: a gift to a loved one for use during his or her lifetime which can then be passed onto a specified charity after this time
Leaving a gift in your will is an effective lasting contribution without any immediate outlay. Legacies left to charities are free from inheritance tax, which means a legacy could result in your tax bill being reduced.
If you have already made a will, you can add an amendment, known as a codicil, which InSEA can provide for you. We do recommend that you consult with your legal advisor when deciding upon making a legacy.
By making a gift to InSEA, you are recognising the work that we do and the difference we make to people’s lives. No gift is too large or too small. Whatever the size, your gift can and will make a difference.
TALK TO US
Leaving a gift in your will is an important decision to make.
If you would like to find out more, or have an informal chat please contact the Treasurer, Secretary or President via the CONTACT US page.
Your gift will be treated with confidentiality and with sensitivity.
We hope to hear from you soon.
Candidate for World Councillor: Latin America Region
I will support InSEA with a grounded, thoughtful, and collaborative approach, rooted in a strong commitment to social justice, equity, and inclusion. With 25 years of experience in arts education and mediation in a variety of contexts, I hope to help strengthen connections between educators, artists, and researchers across the region. I am especially passionate about highlighting Latin American experiences that use art to transform educational and social realities. Through this, I will promote spaces for intercultural dialogue, shared knowledge-building, and the care and inclusion of children. I am also committed to expanding representation within InSEA, ensuring that diverse voices and local practices from Latin America are both acknowledged and meaningfully included in global conversations.

Candidate for World Councillor: Latin America Region
I started my work in art education with the Theater of the Oppressed (Augusto Boal), which brought me closer to Paulo Freire's educational philosophy. mediation and the. I entered university in 1999 and so working in exhibitions and schools (including Waldorf pedagogy and mediation withTriangular Approach -Ana Mae Barbosa). I completed my master's and doctorate at USP (University of São Paulo) at the interface between art/health, which led me to practices and policies that strengthen the ideia that the society with more art can produce more health. In 2017, I became a professor in the Visual Arts program at UNESP (São Paulo State University), where I am currently the vice-director of the Faculty of Architecture, Arts, Communication, and Design (FAAC). I believe I can contribute to discussions about the impact of art on human development. I also represent an important part of our reality, as I am working on the training of educatorsin in a public university. I am part of the board of the São Paulo Organization of Art Education (OPAE) and a member of the Brazilian Federation of Art Education (FAEB). I believe that exchange with other countries can be very beneficial and strengthen all of us.

Candidate for World Councillor: Latin America Region
My work in art education and museum practice is rooted in Latin America, where I strive to highlight the richness of cultural production and educational practices from the Global South. My focus in InSEA will be on strengthening connections between formal and informal learning spaces, especially through museum-based education and digital strategies that broaden participation. This is something I’ve been committed to in Bogotá, where I lead artistic residency programmes not only in consolidated institutions like the Bogotá Museum of Modern Art (MAMBO), but also in independent spaces such as Proyecto Binario. Colombia and Latin America are regions where knowledge is approached from multiple angles—not always through writing, academia, or formal education. While I value these spaces, I also recognize that diverse ways of understanding must be acknowledged and included. As part of an international research team working across Colombia, Canada, and Egypt, I’ve experienced firsthand the importance of cultural context, reciprocity, and mutual listening. These collaborations have helped me reflect on how different ways of being in the world shape how we learn, teach, and create. I will bring this commitment to InSEA, ensuring Latin American voices are actively present and meaningfully represented in global conversations on art education.
