Cultural Tradition, Innovation, and Sustainability: Through the Lens of Crafts and Nature
With the support of InSEA, this timely webinar is a key part of a Japan Foundation Global Partnership Grant awarded to the Shelburne Craft School and Shelburne Farms in Vermont, USA with Nishiawakura, a small village in Japan. Both communities embrace sustainability and the power of integrating nature and art. There are four panelists: a Forest Manager/artist and Architect/Innovator from Nishiawakura and an Environmental Artist and Environmental Educator from Shelburne, Vermont who reflect on their joy and integrity in modeling how rural communities address traditions, innovations, integration of arts, and sustainability. They share current practice, vision for the future, possible collaborations, and respond to questions.
Webinar held on Monday, June 9th 18:00-19:30 (EST) in USA. Tuesday, June10 7:00- 8:30 am (JST) in Japan.
