Gifts in Wills are an important and crucial source of funding, providing lasting support which will help to safeguard InSEA’s ability to enrich more people’s lives now and in the future. Remember InSEA in your will
There are many ways you can make a gift which is both simple and efficient:
Residuary: the amount left over after all other costs, for example, funeral expenses, have been deducted
Pecuniary: a fixed sum of money
Specific: a gift of a particular named item, for example, a painting, building or land
Reversionary: a gift to a loved one for use during his or her lifetime which can then be passed onto a specified charity after this time
Leaving a gift in your will is an effective lasting contribution without any immediate outlay. Legacies left to charities are free from inheritance tax, which means a legacy could result in your tax bill being reduced.
If you have already made a will, you can add an amendment, known as a codicil, which InSEA can provide for you. We do recommend that you consult with your legal advisor when deciding upon making a legacy.
By making a gift to InSEA, you are recognising the work that we do and the difference we make to people’s lives. No gift is too large or too small. Whatever the size, your gift can and will make a difference.

World Councillor: South East Asia and The Pacific
I am committed to the ongoing promotion of the benefits of art education globally across all sectors. Research is critical and the dissemination of research findings of great important to all art educators and educational administrators. Artmaking opens up a world of symbolic, material and imaginative reasoning and needs to be a core skill for all children. Artmaking informs our cultural and social identities, builds resilience and our adaptive capacities. Making visual art is a personal cognitive and social project emerging from the way images are accessed and connected with personal experience from art across time, place and culture. Image making continuously informs us and transforms us. Being a World Councillor will help me work for the InSEA community in the communication of the benefits of education through art.
Candidate for South East Asia and The Pacific
I am based in Australia, born and raised in New-Zealand and have taught students and supervised HDR students across a range of art education topics in this region (including a recent PhD student in Fiji). I have worked as a full-time, Senior Lecturer in Art Education at Deakin University, Australia for the past 16 years, preparing new teachers to teach art, developing new courses and teaching up to 300 students a year. My practice as an artist as well as training and experience working as an art therapist in hospitals a few decades ago informs my research and approaches to art education. My research focuses on education, place, identity, practice, arts health and STEAM and more recently I am working on larger collaborative projects that include Australian Indigenous artists and academics as well as environmental education. These experiences will be important to bring to my role on the World Council.

InSEA embodies what art education is and its endeavors. It serves to disseminate and make accessible the principles and practices of art education to the world.
I have been a World Councillor for Southeast Asia & Pacific from 2017-2022, and would like to advocate once again to the imagination of young minds (and old too!) that draws more people into contributing to the art education endeavor.
I am currently the Dean of the School of Heritage Education at the Asian Institute of Maritime Studies, home to Museo Maritimo, the First Maritime Themed Museum in the Philippines.

I bring a lifelong love of art education and a commitment to serve in supporting structures that enable art education to be taken seriously and enjoyed playfully. I have served as Treasurer of Art Education Australia since 2017 and currently. I am a secondary Art Teacher, a practicing professional artist and a community based arts organisation supporter and administrator. I write and document on
arts organisations I have and am a member of. I believe deeply in the vitality of inclusive arts practice in education and in the community and have lived by this belief. I consider my experience as an educator, artist and committed participant on the executive of committees and committee member makes me useful to INSEA.

Since joining InSEA (2006), I serve/served in numerous roles (e.g., IJETA reviewer, editorial board member; Representative at WAAE, InSEA Newsletter editor, Publications Working Group member, InSEA research collaborator, and volunteer). In 17 years, I developed personal and professional connections with art educators throughout the world and exponentially grew as an individual and an educator. I’d like educators in my region to experience that growth and community. Along with meeting world council requirements, I’d especially work to (1) connect educators in my region with others internationally through projects for knowledge exchange, and cross-cultural & collaborative teaching, that can increase multicultural understanding, and promote diversity, and inclusion in classrooms. (2) organize InSEA panels and meetings at national conferences and (3) promote regional and international dialogue on art education’s role in addressing post-pandemic student needs and responding to emerging technologies, for expanding and sharing our goals and visions as an international community
World Councillor: South East Asia & The Pacific Region
Dr Sarah Healy is co-lead of SWISP Lab (Speculative Wonderings in Space and Place), a co-laboratory of practitioners working across the fields of speculative a/r/tography, affect theory, metho-pedagogy, and digital scholarship in the humanities, arts and social sciences. Sarah’s interdisciplinary program of research is orientated by the idea of 'justice' and involves collaborations with academics, artists, practitioners, educators and GLAM professionals around the world. As a World Councillor Sarah aims to raise the profile of InSEA in Aotearoa New Zealand and build on the excellent work of past councillors by creating opportunities for SEAP members to share, network and collaborate.
