At InSEA, we believe that art transforms people’s lives.
Gifts in Wills are an important and crucial source of funding, providing lasting support which will help to safeguard InSEA’s ability to enrich more people’s lives now and in the future. Remember InSEA in your will
There are many ways you can make a gift which is both simple and efficient:
Residuary: the amount left over after all other costs, for example, funeral expenses, have been deducted
Pecuniary: a fixed sum of money
Specific: a gift of a particular named item, for example, a painting, building or land
Reversionary: a gift to a loved one for use during his or her lifetime which can then be passed onto a specified charity after this time
Leaving a gift in your will is an effective lasting contribution without any immediate outlay. Legacies left to charities are free from inheritance tax, which means a legacy could result in your tax bill being reduced.
If you have already made a will, you can add an amendment, known as a codicil, which InSEA can provide for you. We do recommend that you consult with your legal advisor when deciding upon making a legacy.
By making a gift to InSEA, you are recognising the work that we do and the difference we make to people’s lives. No gift is too large or too small. Whatever the size, your gift can and will make a difference.
TALK TO US
Leaving a gift in your will is an important decision to make.
If you would like to find out more, or have an informal chat please contact the Treasurer, Secretary or President via the CONTACT US page.
Your gift will be treated with confidentiality and with sensitivity.
We hope to hear from you soon.
Candidate for World Councillor: Europe Region
Our lives are connected to who we are and do, and art is the language I use to visualise multiple layers of identity entangled to our histories and the environment. At InSEA, I had the chance to learn from experienced artists+educators worldwide and further develop my roles as an artist, teacher, and researcher. But I have also learned from the many places I come from. I grew up in Buenos Aires in a family with WWII refugee background. My family ties connect to Croatia, Scotland, Spain, Italy, and Lithuania. I am aware of the strong ties between Europe and the Americas, but also the impact of coloniality. How can art education keep contributing through InSEA creating caring communities of educators advocating for social and environmental justice? I would like to continue working towards these goals, organising webinars as co-learning spaces for teachers and educators, designing projects and applying collaboratively to EU grant support schemes, and facilitating publications that encourage cross-regional dialogue and participation aligned to UNESCO’s Art and Culture Goals (SDGs). I acknowledge the time and effort that takes to work ad-honorem for InSEA. It is to me a privilege to continue doing so. I look for your support and encourage you to participate with us to enrich our artistic and educational network. Feel free to contact me in Español, Portuñol, English, Bokmål, or Française. Thank you.

As a Professor of Art Education at Anadolu University, I have long focused on the evolution of art education in the context of technological transformation and social change. Throughout my academic career, I have actively collaborated with researchers from Canada, the United States, and Europe, engaging in international projects that explore the intersections of contemporary art, education, and cultural dynamics. My research and practice are shaped by the shifts in art education, new modes of art-making, arts-based research, and the sociological dimensions of contemporary art. I am particularly interested in how art education can respond to the complexities of our time and reflect these transformations meaningfully. Today, the interaction between contemporary art and technology offers powerful tools for expressing cultural diversity and building inclusive narratives. I believe we must develop emotionally resonant, arts-based approaches that reflect shared values in this digitally shaped, new materialist era. I am committed to fostering collaborative, participatory platforms that bridge artistic expression and technological innovation. With enthusiasm and dedication, I aim to contribute to InSEA’s mission and support global initiatives that empower our community of art educators, artists, and researchers. Together, we can create lasting impact through the transformative power of art education.

As a world counselor, I see my role as liaising with the other world counselors and the presidency on behalf of the countries and of Insea, its members, their needs, concerns and wishes. Only regular communication can guarantee this, especially at the beginning. Subsequently, I am actively involved in spreading INSEA's concerns, especially on topics such as inclusion, diversity, health, and the new roles of art in challenging times. What I can offer: I am active artist/researcher/teacher, I have an excellent national and international network, am experienced in organizing conferences (INSEA Regional Conference Europe 2016 and annual conferences on interdisciplinarity) and publications. I would be happy to work with INSEA, for example, to present at the major Venice Biennial with all interested partners/members or to establish links with ELIA (European League for the Institutes for the Arts) or CUMULUS, for example. I was able to gain a lot of experience here in the field of artistic research. However, the most important thing is to promote exchange among art educators in poorer and wealthier countries alike. For me, the greatest challenge is to work respectfully with people.

Candidate for World Councillor: Europe Region
As a candidate for the position of World Councillor for Europe at INSEA, I am committed to being an active voice in the promotion of equitable access to visual arts education across all European contexts. I firmly believe that all learners, regardless of their background, nationality, or socio-economic status, are entitled to an arts education that connects them to their cultural heritage, fosters critical thinking, and stimulates imagination. My experience in inclusive and intercultural projects within diverse educational settings equips me to contribute to a Europe where education through the arts serves as a catalyst for social justice, empathy, and democratic cohesion. Furthermore, I intend to actively support the development of curricula and training programmes that incorporate visual literacy as an essential competence in the 21st century. Through collaboration with educators, researchers, and policy makers, I will advocate for innovative pedagogical practices that integrate artistic creation with critical reflection, aesthetic judgement, and meaningful visual communication. With a transdisciplinary approach, I believe that arts education can prepare new generations with flexible, ethical, and creative intelligences, capable of responding to contemporary global challenges. Finally, I view the role of World Councillor as a bridge between local contexts and the global mission of INSEA. I am committed to fostering collaborative networks among arts educators across Europe, encouraging the exchange of practices, knowledge, and methodologies that honour the continent’s cultural and linguistic diversity. Through active listening and dedicated representation, I aim to contribute to the growth of INSEA as an international platform that champions systematic, continuous, and transformative arts education.

For me, art is essential to access and engage with the world. This seems particularly relevant in the current turbulent and crisis-ridden times. In my art education practice and research, I am particularly interested in the connection between art(education) and socio-political and scientific issues, such as the climate crisis, sustainability, discrimination or democracy education. Global networking is particularly important for such major issues - and this is something I would like to continue to promote as a European World Councillor. The subject of art must also be strengthened in educational institutions worldwide, as it enables aesthetic and interdisciplinary approaches to global challenges, while at the same time creating a space for individual creativity. In order to strengthen the importance of art, InSEA is in demand as a global institution. Last year I completed my dissertation on ambiguity as a way of thinking and acting for art education in the climate crisis. I currently work as a lecturer at the University of Kaiserslautern-Landau, but also have experience in museums and socio-cultural spaces.
