Event Details

The InSEA Europe webinar aims to open up a dialogue among general teachers, art teachers, and those practitioners that are concerned about the benefits of visual arts education for the development of young children. It will provide opportunities for engagement with different curricula and educational policies implemented in European countries.

The program of the webinar includes:

• Leticia Balzi (Fagerhaug International School Stjørdal) from Norway “Two Lesson Plans Incorporating the Un Global Goals and the International Baccalaureate Art Curriculum in Grade 5 in Norway”

• Joachim Kettel (University of Education Karlsruhe, Arts Institute) from Germany “The snowman is the real problem in art education!”

• Ava Serjouie-Scholz (Fach Akademie für Sozialpädagogik Maria Stern Nördlingen) from Germany “An adequate, thorough training for nursery teachers to ensure an appropriate start into the world of creativity for our children”

• Penny Hay (School of Education, Bath Spa University, BSU) from the UK “Children as artists: how can adults support children’s learning identity as artists?”

• Elena Evagorou (Primary School Teacher, Visual Arts; Member of CySEA) from Cyprus “What Goes on in my Art Lesson”

• Ana Rocha (Universidade de Lisboa) from Portugal “Teaching as un unpredictable way of playing”

The webinar series has been designed to bring European teachers together, form alliances, and share good practices for art education. We hope to celebrate innovations and foster interconnectedness as well as respond to an inevitable change of education that the current social circumstances reveal.
